Issie Curchin - Junior

A youngster with
'the voice of an angel' won the Junior title in Talentcall 2011, billed
as the largest talent contest in the South. Issie Curchin, who goes to
Corfe Hills School in Broadstone held the audience spellbound with her
rendition of 'Pie Jesu'. For the first time in Talentcall history, the
senior winner was claimed by a dancer, Toby Stannard, 16, from Verwood.
Twenty Two finalists competed in each of the Junior and Senior
categories for a £2000 prize and the title of Talentcall Overall Winner
2011. They had been selected from more than 1000 hopefuls and were
assessed by Three judges. |

Issie, who wowed
the audience, said 'The whole experience has been a major boost to my
confidence. I've made so many friends and had such a fun time.' She will
be donating some of her prize money to children's hospice Julias House.
Toby who performed a faultless routine, was described as the best dancer
Talentcall has ever seen. He said 'Talentcall isn't just a talent
competition, it's a huge social event and a chance for people to show
what they can do.' Runner-up in the junior section was Ollie slee, a
young man with a smooth Buble-esque voice, while street dancers, Big
Jack Lil Jack came Third. Runners-up in the senior section were pianist
Steven Lee and singer Jackie-Ross Lavender. |
